If they gave out awards for mediocrity (you know, a sort of spot prize for the unexceptional; a pat on the back for the triers out there) Resistance 2 would have to win. Well done you showed up!

The story picks up where we left it, with Hale having rescued Blighty from the earthbound aliens being rushed off to Iceland (no not the supermarket) to be initiated into the "Sentinels," a group of infected soldiers who have been given suppressants to keep them human. Strangely for a war fought entirely in Europe and with a contingency of only 3000 U.S. soldiers - all of whom we are told died, every Sentinel is American, also - the world is being invaded by Mutant Zombie Aliens and they send 3000 soldiers! Nice plot hole lads, you could hide the Titanic in it!

You'll play through the story comfortably in about 8-10 hours. What struck me about the game was the "homages" to other games here. Bits seem to have been lifted straight out of the likes of Gears of War, Half Life, Halo and pretty much any of the decent shooters of the last 5 years.

It's a pity then that they couldn't source a decent plot from somewhere.
