Pop punk pioneers Weezer are considering bringing their excellent 1996 album 'Pinkerton' on tour to celebrate a new reissue that will be released this year.

Bassist Brian Bell told Exclaim.ca that he hopes a Pinkerton tour will become a reality.
"We have a reissue of 'Pinkerton' coming out with new packaging ... and I'm praying a 'Pinkerton' tour, where we'll play all the songs off 'Pinkerton', soon."

We were recently bemoaning the decline of Weezer, but still reeeally hope this comes together. If Weezer only ever played from their first three albums the world would be a much better place.

The 'Pinkerton' reissue is due for release on October 1st, just a few weeks after their upcoming eighth studio album 'Hurley'.

The band have since revealed that they in fact wish to tour with both Pinkerton and their 1994 self titled debut, commonly referred to as the Blue Album. Frontman Rivers Cuomo told MTV, "We have this really exciting idea to do a tour where we spend two nights in each city, and the first night, we play the entire Blue Album, and the second night, we play the entirety of Pinkerton. We're just running it by promoters right now to see if there's sufficient interest in the markets to do something like that, and if they're on board, it's gonna happen."
