Girls Gone Wild creator Joe Francis, hasn't taken too kindly to Jerry O Connell's character in the new horror movie, Piranha 3D.

See, in the film O Connell plays a young porn auteur, who directs and produces flicks under the title, Wild Wild Girls. Francis is (in)famous for his Girls Gone Wild videos, where, eh, girls go wild by removing clothing and shouting stuff like "yeeeeeeeeeeeah." The Hollywood Reporter has the letter from Francis' attorney to studio The Weinstein Company, and some quotes from the man himself who said: "I appreciate a good parody as much as the next guy, but to associate me with drugs and the filming of underage girls crosses a definite line," Francis told the trade paper. "Jerry O'Connell has repeatedly and emphatically stated on the public record that he is "playing Joe Francis," NOT a fictional character based on me. Mr. O’Connell has done this despite having been warned by his own lawyers not to admit this." When asked if he would see the film or not, Francis replied "Probably not, because I have heard from several people who have seen the movie that it’s so bad, it’s unwatchable. But I’m sure that my lawyer Larry Stein will be front and centre opening day!"

It's actually good fun, and O Connell's coked-up porn merchant is one of the funniest things about it. If Piranha 3D hits big at the box-office, expect Francis to go for the fiscal jugular. O Connell stated at the premiere that "the character is based on a number of people in the soft core porn industry,”  then added with a smile, "any similarities are purely coincidental.”
