Work on Wolverine 2 has already begun, and the film will begin shooting in Japan in January of next year.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Usual Suspects scripter and Way of the Gun director Christopher McQuarrie has written a draft set predominately in Asia, where Logan falls in love with a local, and becomes entangled in a scuffle with the Yakuza.
The last film was downright atrocious. So hopefully Fox have learnt their lesson and will give a decent director a proper shot of making a film sans excessive studio involvement. No word on said director yet, as Fox and the producers currently whittle down choices and gauge interest from agents. Hugh Jackman deserves a better film - hopefully he gets it.
