Jason Statham, Javier Bardem and Mickey Rourke are all reportedly in negotiations for the Tony Scott-directed $38 million action thriller Potzdamer Platz, according to Deadline New York, via DarkHorizons.com
In what would be a low budget effort for Scott, the story follows a couple of foot-soldiers in a New Jersey-based crime family who try to expand internationally. They soon end up in Puerto Rico peddling their brand of American crime. I'm assuming Bardem won't be playing a brother, which would mean Statham will be attempting an American accent.
Scott scaled down his big budget eccentricities before brilliantly with True Romance; here's hoping this script from the writers of Sexy Beast is as good as Tarantino's.
