The hugely underrated cult movie/tv star Nathan Fillion has joined the cast of James Gunn's currently shooting superhero movie, Super. Fillion and Gunn are good friends, having worked together on the extremely awesome horror movie, Slither.
According to Gunn himself, via his Facebook page, Fillion will be joined by fellow Slither alum Michael Rooker, star of The Wire, Andre Royo (Bubbles), and ER's Linda Cardellini (who also appeared on the ridiculously all-sorts-of-brilliant series Freaks and Geeks as well as the Gunn penned Scooby Doo movies). They join the core cast, Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Kevin Bacon, and Liv Tyler.
I'm a big fan of James Gunn's writing, and the man made a hugely enjoyable directorial debut with Slither. Add a that damn fine cast, and Super is firmly placing its arse on my most anticipated list.
