Jude Law was not someone I was a fan of. He just struck me as poor man's Colin Farrell with more hype and less talent, but Sherlock Holmes proved that in the right role, he can actually be hugely entertaining. Speaking to ComingSoon.net, he had this to say about the impending sequel:

"I haven't been given the absolute... it's not like next week but I think it's sometime this year is what I get," says Law. "We had the best time, and we were also very aware that we had a hell of a lot more material to use. Conan Doyle wrote over fifty stories, and there was so much to take from. Once we knew it was doing well financially, we all started throwing in our ideas of where it could go and what should happen next."

The film has grossed over $200 million in America alone, which automatically renders it a blockbuster. Hence the hurried talk of a sequel. Guy Ritchie is contracted to come back, but may be busy with a new King Arthur movie, Excalibur. The cant.
