Geri didn't go down Halliwell (apologies) during her stint as a BGT host. That's what happens when she tries to be herself.

Firstly, she set about annoying her co-judges. According to The Mirror, she gibbered such things as: "I am really excited, I feel like I am in a new band, we should be Steps or Abba", and then set about unnerving Cheryl Cole. Granted, it wouldn't take much, but if I saw the Halliwell sidling up to me, spindly arm outstretched for a half hug, while mumbling "And what about this gorgeous, gorgeous girl?" in a barely patronising fashion, I'd probably administer a friendly headbutt.

Secondly, she started irking the mob. In Glasgow. Never a good idea. A nameless source speaking to The Examiner said: "It all started well for Geri and then she blew it. She was quite mean. Even the other judges were a bit taken aback by some of her comments. She even outdid Simon Cowell. Some people were saying: 'Thank God she's only a stand-in.'"

Thirdly, what better way to ingratiate oneself to your fellow judges and an angry Glaswegian crowd than storming off stage when certain audience members start changing "bring back Dannii..."

A witness wittering to Digital Spy said: "Geri was awful. After one audition she left the judges' table before being followed by Simon. Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh looked bemused when the warm up guy announced we were having an early break. It wasn't until a few auditions in she really started to irritate. On a number of occasions, the judges would do the 'yes or no' section. Simon would go, 'It's a no' and the auditionee would leave but she would then pipe up with more comments on the performance. This isn't the time to do it."

With regards some people, anytime is never a good time.
