Cameron Diaz, coming off of a box-office disappointment with The Box (which I really liked), has signed on to a "raunchy comedy" called Bad Teacher.

.
According to Variety, The Office and Year One writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky have penned the script, about a "foulmouthed, gold-digging middle-school teacher who, after getting dumped by her boyfriend, competes with a colleague for the affections of the school’s model teacher." So, Bad Santa for teachers then?

The film is being directed by Jake Kasdan, who has previously helmed the enjoyable likes of Orange County and Walk Hard; as well as episodes of the brilliant Freaks and Geeks. Diaz is currently shooting the action film, Knight and Day opposite Tom Cruise.
