According to the folk at Heat Vision Blog, recent entertainment.ie interviewee Russell Crowe has reportedly attached himself to the big screen adaptation of the brilliant 80s series, The Equalizer.
The late, great Edward Woodward starred in the original version, about a former government hard bastard, who got sick of working for his dodgy bosses, and instead decided to help people being terrorised by walking ASBO's. Set in New York, it was hugely atmospheric stuff, and Woodward was an intense and searing presence as our hero. Now, Crowe will take over the mantle, in what should be an action packed thriller, with an awesome opening sequence (have a looksie below).
No word on a director as of yet, but the inclusion of Crowe is sure to attach some helming talent. Genuinely looking forward to this - loved the show.
