Diana: Designing a Princess (R) (T)

BBC Art, Culture and Entertainment correspondent Brenda Emmanus marks the forthcoming 20th anniversary of the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, with a documentary exploring the stories behind some of her most exquisite dresses, brought together for a new exhibition at Kensington Palace in February. As a thoroughly modern royal, Diana had an acute sense of the importance of fashion in controlling her own image, as well as an understanding that clothing could be an art form. Brenda visits the Conservation Studio at Hampton Court Palace as the dresses for the exhibition are prepared for display, hears from historians and cultural commentators, and speaks to some of the designers who dressed Diana. Includes contributions by Elizabeth Emmanuel, Victor Edelstein and David Sassoon.
