Zombieland heads back to its TV roots.
So it seems as though Amazon are getting in on the zombie action and making their own telly show about the walking dead. No, not THE The Walking Dead, just y'know, the oul zombie population in general. Sure everyone loves zombies these days.
Broadcast Now says they'll be taking 2009 comedy horror flick Zombieland and using it as a basis for a new on-demand series. Main characters Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita, and Little Rock are slated to return along with two new potential victims, Fred and Ainsley. who are described as 'two office workers at the start of the zombie apocalypse, obliviously complaining about problems with their iPhones and getting the wrong order at Starbucks.'
Don't expect to see the lads trying to jump out of your tellybox any time soon - Amazon will most likely distribute the series as 30 minute instalments using its Instant Video Service. And don't expect to see Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg or Abigail Breslin back in action: None of them are currently attached to the project. It shouldn't be too hard to adapt the flick for the small screen; sure it was originally intended to be a TV comedy inallinanyways!
