Yeah, that's got to be one of the oddest pairings we've seen in quite some time.
Zayn Malik, late of the One Direction parish, is teaming up with the creator of the one of the longest-running TV dramas, Law & Order, to make a series about his boyband career with One Direction. Imaginatively titled 'Boys', the show will go behind the scenes of the glittering world of pop stardom and find out what it's really like.
Yeah, sure.
If ordered to series after its pilot, Boys will be along the lines of Nashville and Empire, i.e. a music-focused show with original music and the possibility of a spinoff band in the process. The series was shopped to various studios and landed at NBC, which was home to the short-lived musical series Smash.
Zayn Malik, as we know, isn't the only former Directioner who's making moves onto our screens. Harry Styles has been cast and sighted on the set of Christopher Nolan's World War II epic, Dunkirk, and is reportedly lining up other roles in the meantime.
All we need now is Niall Horan on the set of Fair City and we're set.
