Coronation Street must be feeling a bit nostalgic theses days as there is a host of new faces returning to the cobbles. First there was news that Peter Barlow was making his way back to Corrie, then Toyah Battersby, and now it's been announced that Rosie Webster will be back for a visit early next year.

Actress Helen Flanagan is returning to the soap after five years, and is set to begin filming at the end of the year and will make her on-screen debut in February. The storyline will see Rosie surprise her parents Kevin and Sally Webster by returning home from Miami with her sister Sophie, who was visiting her there.

Helen said: "I'm so excited to be returning to Coronation Street and being part of the Webster family again."

Coronation Street producer Kate Oates said: "The Websters have missed Rosie and so have we.

"With Sophie away on holiday with her sister it seemed like the ideal time to bring Rosie back home with her for a visit.

"We are delighted that Helen is as keen to explore what Rosie has been up to away from the cobbles as we are."

There was speculation over the summer that Helen would make a return to the soap, and while the actress said she would love to return in an interview on Loose Woman, she also added that it would only be for a few episodes as she is busy being a mum to her daughter, one-year-old Matilda.

At the moment it looks like she could be returning for a least a month, so question is, what juicy storyline will they have in store for Rosie? And will she still be the same feather-headed girl who left for London dreaming of reality show stardom?

We'll have to wait and see.
