We've been looking forward to this show for a while, and now we finally have a trailer to get excited about. GLOW follows Ruth Wilder (Alison Brie), a struggling actress in 80s LA, as she makes a last gasp attempt at stardom by joining an all-female professional wrestling show. GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) was a real life wrestling promotion which ran from 1986 to 1990.

Ruth has to get the grips with the demands of professional wrestling, while also dealing with the 12 other women in the group including star of the show Debbie Egan.

The show was co-created by Carly Mensch and Liz Flahive who have previously written for Orange Is The New Black, Nurse Jackie and Homeland. Orange Is The New Black's creator Jenji Kohan is also onboard as executive producer. That level of talent behind the scenes has given us high hopes.  Alison Brie has proven her comedic chops in Community, but has also show dramatic skills with her role in Mad Men.

GLOW will be released on Netflix on June 23rd.
