A first look behind-the-scenes at the revival of David Lynch’s surreal, iconic series has been unveiled by Showtime.

Twin Peaks alumni returning to the show include Kyle MacLachlan, Miguel Ferrer, Kimmy Robertson, Harry Goaz, Dana Ashbrook and James Marshall.

New additions include Jim Belushi, Amy Shiels, Robert Knepper and Chrysta Bell.

In a new featurette, they all share their reactions to the early revival rumours and to the official announcement. They also preview what’s to come and reflect on the impact Twin Peaks had when it first came out.

Season 3 of Twin Peaks picks up some 25 years after the original series left off. The show follows what happens to the inhabitants of a quaint town when they are stunned by their homecoming queen Laura Palmer being shockingly murdered.

The new Twin Peaks is written and produced by series creators and executive producers David Lynch and Mark Frost and is directed entirely by Lynch. From the sounds of the cast, there is much to be excited about:

The majority of the show’s original cast will be returning. They are joined by other high-profile talent new to the series including regular Lynch collaborator Laura Dern, Michael Cera, Naomi Watts and Amanda Seyfried. The entire cast is made up of 217 members.

Sadly, no release date yet, we only know it’s arriving in 2017.
