If there's been one person who has made the madness of Trump's first year in presidency seem more bearable it has to be John Oliver. The English talk show host has happily taken the mantle from Jon Stewart as one of American TV's funniest and smartest political commentators and frankly we're a bit annoyed he has finished up for the season.
Oliver went out on a high though, going over some of Last Week Tonight's most memorable moments over the course of the season, which included a callback to a July episode featuring five lifelike wax presidents of the United States in a fake trailer alongside Laura Linney, Anna Kendrick, James Cromwell, and Campbell Scott.
The final scene in the episode was given to another wax presidents trailer, but this time featuring the one and only Tom Hanks.
Please don't stay away too long John Oliver.
