Netflix was pretty good to us last Christmas giving us the uber-addictive Making a Murderer, and now they have a new series which is set to hook you in this Yuletide.

Called The OA, it's a new mystery drama that seems to be of the same ilk as Stranger Things and Black Mirror.

The eight-episode series tells the story of a missing blind girl (Brit Marling) who shows up seven years later with her sight restored, and apparently, unable to remember where she has been.

(Maybe The Upside Down??)

Other cast members include Emory Cohen (Brooklyn, The Place Beyond the Pines), Scott Wilson (The Walking Dead, Junebug), Phyllis Smith (The Office), Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter, Fury, Dig), Alice Krige (Star Trek: First Contact, Silent Hill), Patrick Gibson (The Tudors), Brendan Meyer (Mr. Young, The Guest) and newcomers Ian Alexander and Brandon Perea.

The series was created by Marling and Zal Batmanglij (Sound of My Voice, The East), who also directs, while executive producers include Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Sarah Esberg from Plan B (Oscar-winning producers of 12 Years a Slave) and Michael Sugar from Anonymous Content (True Detective, The Knick).

Sounds promising!
