The first look trailer for Star Trek: Discovery has finally arrived.
The series will premiere on Netflix this autumn and will feature 15 episodes, up from the previously announced 13. Set ten years before Kirk, Spock and the Enterprise, the series will follow the voyages of Starfleet on their missions to discover new worlds and new lifeforms.
In particular, the series will focus on one Starfleet officer (Sonequa Martin-Green) who must learn that to truly understand all things alien, you must first understand yourself.
As you can see from the trailer, Martin-Green's character looks to be half human, half Vulcan (like Spock). It looks like Spock's father, Sarek, will act as a mentor to her character as well as she prepares for a career with Starfleet.
There's also a look at Michelle Yeoh, who's playing the ship's Captain and Doug Jones' Lt. Saru.
