Although we all know Julie Andrews as Sr. Maria or Mary Poppins, she's also been a passionate supporter for children's education for many years.

In fairness, she IS Mary Poppins so this just all makes sense. Nevertheless, it's been announced that Andrews will lead a new children's TV series for Netflix called Julie Andrews' Greenroom. The show, which will see her working alongside characters created by The Jim Henson Company, will focus on the "wonder of the performing arts" and, hopefully, encourage children to get involved.

Already, there's a ton of stars lined up to make cameo appearances, including Frozen's Idina Menzel, Alec Baldwin and Josh Groban. Not only that, the series will feature original songs, mime, circus acts and lots of education on everything theatre and performing arts has to offer.

Here's the announcement trailer.

No specific date has been announced, but it's understood the series will be on Netflix from 2017. Meanwhile, Emily Blunt is close to locking down the role made famous by Andrews in a reboot / sequel for Disney. Could we see an Emily Blunt cameo in this series?

Does a spoonful of sugar make the medicine go down? Our survey says yes, it does.
