Now it was still a prank and most of the dads were pretty pissed off afterwards but for those that listened, there was a lovely message underneath.
In previous years, Jimmy Kimmel has asked people to spray their dads with a hose, to serve them breakfast in the shower and other less than pleasant things but this year the challenge was simple: sneak up on your father and yell "I love you Dad" as loud as you can.
And some people took that idea and ran with it.
