The legendary comic is set to air two previously unreleased hour-long comedy specials as Netflix ups its comedy output substantially.

Netflix is looking to cement its status as the home of comedy in 2017 with high-profile acts like Louis CK, Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld and Amy Schumer all set to appear on the streaming service, and now Dave Chappelle has been added to the list.

Two hour-long specials from Chappelle's personal vault, 'Dave Chappelle: The Age of Spin' filmed at The Palladium in Los Angeles in March 2016, and 'Dave Chappelle: Deep in the Heart of Texas' filmed at the Moody Theater in Austin in April 2015, will air exclusively on Netflix from March 21st, and Chappelle is currently on the road in preparation for a third Netflix special.

And according to the Verge, this is just the start of Netflix's owning of stand-up comedy, as the streaming service is to release a new comedy special every week in 2017, doubling its 2016 output and leaving competitors like HBO and Comedy Central in the dust.

If you're a fan of stand-up, we think this may be the best €9.99 a month you can spend.
