Stephen King seems to be working his way back onto our screens, what with the upcoming Castle Rock anthology series and now this slasher / detective series with our own Brendan Gleeson no less.

Mr. Mercedes is based on King's 2014 hard-boiled detective novel and sees Gleeson as a retired cop who's tormented by a serial killer who taunts him repeatedly through his computer. The role of Mr. Mercedes was originally supposed to be played by Anton Yelchin, who sadly died in June of last year. Penny Dreadful's Harry Treadaway has taken over the role, and looks to be doing a pretty good job of it going by this trailer.

There's no word yet on whether or not Mr. Mercedes will be screened on terrestrial TV over on this side of the Atlantic, but we'll be keeping an eye out as this looks pretty interesting.

Here's the first trailer.
