EastEnders celebrated thirty years on air last week and while there have been many that have come and gone on Albert Square down the years, there's only one that has been there since the very beginning, and that, of course, is Ian Beale.

The character has been played by the much more likeable actor Adam Woodyatt these last three decades, so some bright spark on the internet has likened his role in the soap to that of the kid from Oscar nominated movie Boyhood.

For those that may not have seen the Richard Linklater flick yet, it cast a boy to play the same role over the course of 12 years, essentially growing up on screen. A movie first that was much applauded, but they need only have come over this side of the pond to realise EastEnders had been doing it for years.

Ladies and gentlemen, we give you, Bealehood.
