Turns out there's a reason Plankton is so angry: lack of gratitude.
To celebrate World Oceans Day, the BBC and Nickelodeon teamed up to bring you some inside info on how the food chain of the oceans and the world work and how they depend on the little angry guy that we all love to hate in SpongeBob. Yes, it's all down to Plankon.
Well plankton and all the other species of micro-organism. And the sun. But a lot to do with plankton, so we have to give props. How did the Beeb do it? By letting Plankton himself run riot in a nature clip that would usually be narrated by an Attenborough. We're not sure we'd make the change permanent but we'll take it as a nice surprise for now.
