The National Television Awards took place in London last night and as usual, Ant and Dec won big (see the full list of winners here).  The pair managed to nab the Best TV Presenter gong for what will be the 17th year in a row, but as fans of the duo will know, it's been quite a tumultuous 12 months for Ant McPartlin.

He checked himself into rehab for addiction to prescription painkillers  last summer while most recently it was announced him and his wife were ending their 12-year marriage.

On accepting the award, Ant said: "It’s been a very emotional night tonight, quite a year, quite a tough 12 months, so winning this means a lot."

The speech cuts off below but, Ant goes on to say: "I would personally like to thank family and friends, I love you and thank you, thank you for your support, and thank you to you, little guy," he joked, talking to Dec.

"I love you, Dec, let’s not cry," he then laughed

"It has been quite the year," said Dec, "but this tops it of. It is really appreciated, possibly this year more than any other."

Watch the moment they won below while you can catch the National Television Awards on TV3 this Friday at 9pm.
