It's been a while since we have seen the great Al Pacino light up the big screen as he did back in the days of The Godfather, Scarface, Heat, Dog Day Afternoon - the list of his great flicks are endless.

These days however his best performances can be found on the small screen, with Pacino scooping awards in recent years for his roles in the HBO movie Phil Spector and Dr Jack Kevorkian in You Don’t Know Jack.

Now he is set to take to the small screen once more in a hard-hitting HBO biopic about Penn State's college football coach Joe Paterno in the aftermath of the Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal. The HBO description reads: "After becoming the winningest coach in college football history, Paterno’s legacy is challenged and he is forced to face questions of institutional failure in regard to the victims."

The trailer below gives us a glimpse of Pacino in action as Paterno in a role that will no doubt garner the Oscar winner even more accolades.
