Things truly are going from bad to much, much worse for Chris Evans.
As well as facing declining ratings for Top Gear, almost universal panning since his tenure began as host and the threat that one of its main stars - Matt LeBlanc - is looking to leave the show, Evans is now facing a police investigation over an alleged sexual assault.
It's understood that Evans will be questioned by police in the near future over various claims, including one most recently by a former colleague of his from the '90s. A high-ranking British politician, Andrew Bridgen, reportedly sent a letter to the BBC's director-general, Lord Hall, and asked that Evans be investigated over his conduct and complaints lodged against him.
However, Lord Hall replied and said that sufficient safeguards were in place and that Evans - who also has a radio show on BBC - had no questions to answer.
These latest problems come for Evans just as the show, which lost over 3,000,000 viewers since its return, draws to a close.
