The 24th series of motoring show Top Gear will begin airing on BBC2 on March 5th. Matt LeBlanc will return as host, and will be joined by car experts Chris Harris and Rory Reid.

Last year's season was a ratings flop, with less than two million tuning in to the finale. Instead of last year's panel of hosts, the BBC has reverted to the format of three main presenters. Chris Evans stepped down as host in July, in response to the poor ratings.

Season 23 aired against the Euro 2016 championship, which may have contributed to the decline in ratings. It will be interesting to see if the spring time air date will help, and if the BBC will try to shake up the format.

The first promo for the new series was released last week.
