It was back in January of last year that we first got word that Matt Groening, the creator of The Simpsons and Futurama, had inked a deal with Netflix.

Eighteen months later and we finally have the first details about what the new series will be. Entertainment Weekly are reporting that the animated series is called Disenchantment and are describing it as an 'epic fantasy' series featuring the vocal talents of Broad City's Abbi Jackson, Friends From College's Nat Faxon and Rough Night's Eric André.

The show will also feature Groening regulars like John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding, and Lucy Montgomery.

“Ultimately,” Groening said in a statement, “Disenchantment will be about life and death, love and sex, and how to keep laughing in a world full of suffering and idiots, despite what the elders and wizards and other jerks tell you.”
