We may only be two episodes into season two of The Handmaid's Tale but Hulu has already confirmed a third outing for the hugely popular dystopian drama.

The series surpassed Margaret Atwood's book after season one but as viewers have seen already, there's still a lot of story left to tell of Gilead, a totalitarian society in what was formerly part of the United States.

The Handmaid's Tale won big in awards season this year, scooping Emmys for its first season including Outstanding Drama Series and individual acting awards for Elisabeth Moss (June/Offred) and Ann Dowd (Aunt Lydia).

You can watch the second season on RTE, the first broadcaster this side of the pond to secure rights to the series, on Thursday on RTE2 at 9.30pm.
