It looks like Brooklyn Nine-Nine isn't the only high-profile TV show that's been saved from cancellation in recent days.

After a heavy campaign by fans of the show, it's now been confirmed that The Expanse has been picked up for a fourth season by Amazon. The series, which was previously hosted on Syfy in the US and Netflix outside the US (except New Zealand, where it's shown on Sky), had a cult following since its first season and it looks like that fervent fanbase managed to keep it afloat following the cancellation.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos made the announcement at the National Space Society’s International Space Development Conference in Los Angeles last night, confirming rumours that Amazon was putting together a deal to take on the series from Syfy.

Whether or not it'll still be shown on Netflix outside the US remains to be seen, but given how Amazon's streaming service is already available here in Ireland (but probably doesn't have much in the way of uptake), it seems likely that it'll be exclusive to that.
