David Attenborough's BBC shows never disappoint and last night's 'Blue Planet II' was no exception as we discovered things about the deepest darkest parts of our oceans that were truly mindblowing.

As always, Twitter was on fire with red hot reactions to everything that happened and here are ten of the best.

We don't think we're exaggerating when we say the general reaction was shock and awe, with pretty much everyone watching pulling this face throughout.

Some mirrored tabloids and other outlets in their bizarre policing of the wearing of poppies.

While others used their time to fire some shots at alternate programming on the night.

And then there was the inevitable reaction to that sea sponge.

But the biggest shock came from the discovery that there are lakes under the sea. Yes, under the sea. We're still in shock.

And then there was the fact that the show left us questioning everything we knew about life and the universe.

But we'll leave the last word on it to 'Dragon's Den' star Deborah Meaden, who clearly watched 'Finding Nemo' and 'Finding Dory' recently (but we agree with her sentiments 100%).

We can't wait to see what's in store for us next week.
