Cilla Black can rest easy - Lucy Kennedy's not going to be doing her out of a job any time soon.

Last year, TV3 bought the rights to Blind Date, the cheesy-as-all-hell '80s TV gameshow hosted by Cilla Black that saw the Liverpudlian lass match up your Ma and Da.

However, it's understood that TV3 has pulled the plug on the show before it's even aired as execs at the station felt it was a tad outdated.

Lucy currently co-hosts The Seven O'Clock Show with Martin King and previously co-hosted The Podge & Rodge Show and Living With Lucy, where she slept in a caravan with Irish personalities like Senator David Norris.

It's understood that Lucy will be hosting another show, although it's unlikely to be a dating show.

What do you think? Were you looking forward to an Irish version of Blind Date?
