Well this is slightly annoying news - nobody likes change TV3!

The broadcaster today announced that will shortly be rebranding and changing their name to Virgin Media Television with new names for each of the three channels in TV3's current line-up still to be confirmed.

Virgin Media acquired TV3 in December 2015 and it's really turned things around for the channel, with TV3 outbidding RTÉ for the Rights to broadcast rugby's Six Nations Championship for four years starting this February.

They have also secured broadcasting rights to Cheltenham and Aintree festivals from 2017-2020 while Virgin Media also took over UTV Ireland which was rebranded as be3.

It's great to see an Irish broadcaster doing so well but you'll always be TV3 to us, Virgin Media Television. Wait... dammit.
