TV3 have yet to finalise plans for their own Toy Show this year, with less than two months to go until Christmas.

The broadcaster has produced a standalone toy show for the past two years but it has yet to be decided as to whether they will proceed with the same format for 2016.

According to sources quoted by Independent.ie, "plans are still afoot"  to produce a child friendly festive show at some point in the run up to Christmas.

The indecision on the production seems to stem from the many changes behind the scenes at the broadcaster this year. TV3 was bought by Virgin Media earlier in the year and former RTE2 channel controller Bill Malone was only installed as the Director of Programming for TV3 last week.

“The plan is still to do it in some way, but with all the changes going on in TV3 at the moment, it is not over the line yet,”

The first edition of TV3's Toy Show was hosted by Brian McFadden in 2014 and was broadcast to one million viewers.  McFadden was succeeded by Brian Ormond and Maria Walsh last year. The report from Independent.ie also mentions that the format of the show could potentially change, with their source suggesting that the Toy Show might arrive in the form as special one off episode of an existing TV3 programme such as The 7 O'Clock Show.

By contrast, things are full speed ahead for The Late Late Toy Show with host Ryan Tubridy hosting auditions around the country this week.
