Before we go any further, it's assumed you've watched and finished Stranger Things.
If you haven't, really get on it because it's the breakout show of 2016 and it's all down to one lady - Barb. DAMMIT BARB, WE LOVED YOU SO MUCH.
The outpouring of support for Barbara Holland, played by Shannon Purser, did admittedly take Stranger Things' creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, by surprise. In a recent interview with IGN, the only clear topic of discussion was about what happened to Barb and whether the injustice of her *sniff* death would be addressed.
Their response? "I can't see it happening." BASTARDS.
"But Barb will not be forgotten," explained Matt Duffer. "We’ll make sure there’s some justice for Barb. People get very frustrated, understandably, that the town doesn’t seem to be really dealing with Barb. That stuff is all happening. We’re just not spending any screen time on it."
The Duffers went on, clarifying that it's not like all of Hawkins just up and forgot about Barb. Quite the opposite, in fact. "Season One actually takes place over the course of six or seven days - it’s a really short period of time. So part of what we want to do with hypothetical Season 2 is to explore the repercussions of everything that happened."
If you're wondering, by the way, why he said 'hypothetical' Season 2, it's because Netflix STILL haven't officially greenlit Stranger Things for another season - even though it was pretty much left with that in mind. Granted, Matthew Modine has said that work is underway, there hasn't been any kind of official confirmation forthcoming from the streaming giant.
Let's hope that changes quickly because the withdrawal from Stranger Things is pretty tough.
