Seth MacFarlane fans rejoice; the comedy genius and creator of Family Guy, Ted and the best cartoon voices to ever exist has just announced his plans to create, executive produce and star in a dramedy series set in space. Though he's starred on screen in movies, this will mark his live-action TV debut. Taking us to the 24th century, 300 years into the future, MacFarlane has teamed up with Fox network for 13 episodes. The show, which is something he's been dreaming of working since he was a nipper will chronicle the not so successful exploits of the Orville; a spacecraft that Star Wars would probably laugh it. It “will boldly go where no comedic drama has gone before.”

Speaking about the series due to hit our screens in 2017, MacFarlane says in a statement:

“I’ve wanted to do something like this show ever since I was a kid, and the timing finally feels right. 20th [Century Fox TV, which is producing the show] and FOX have been good to me for many years, and of course, Dana and Gary [Walden and Newman, Chairmen of Fox Television Group] have been fantastic bosses and true pals, so it was a no-brainer to come to them with the project. I think this is gonna be something special.”

The man with a thousand voices will also lend his dulcet tones to MacFarlane will also lend his voice to the animated musical film Sing, which hits cinemas this coming Christmas. Shudder.
