Well, nobody saw this coming.

The 2008 teleporting flick starring Hayden Christiansen, Samuel L. Jackson, Rachel Bilson and Bell was panned by critics (it’s at 16% on Rotten Tomatoes) but made a very healthy $222M worldwide at the box office.

According to Deadline, Bell is the driving force behind the new project and feels there’s more of the Griffin O’Connor story to tell. We admire his faith.

He has enlisted the services of Doctor Who writer and director Julian Simpson to help lead the project. It's unclear whether the TV show will be a sequel to the movie, a remake of it or something new entirely.

The original movie was directed by Doug Liman who spoke to us about his new film American Made and a sequel to Edge of Tomorrow. Read here.
