Thanks to the good folk of Entertainment Weekly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans finally got the cast reunion they were waiting for this week for the show's 20th anniversary, albeit without our favourite Watcher Anthony Stewart Head.
Naturally, the question came up with Sarah Michelle Gellar about which one she thought was Buffy's one true love - Angel or Spike?
"People ask who I thought was Buffy's ultimate and I get a lot of hate and a lot of death threats – seriously," Gellar said.
"There was something so beautiful to me about the Buffy and Angel story. I think that Spike understood a different part of who Buffy was and I think she needed to understand that and discover. But for me as Buffy, I think Angel."
We have to agree, Spike served as a great love interest to keep things ticking over in later seasons, and they certainly spiced that show up, but we all know if Angel hadn't got that spin-off series than it would have been him all the way.
Joss Whedon however, was more torn in his opinion: "I'm split right down the middle because in terms of a long-term relationship, Spike's kinda your guy," he said. "But [Angel and Buffy is] the grandest love story I will ever tell. You can't argue with that."
No you can't, Joss.
