You might know him best as one of Lost's most tortured souls, but now Naveen Andrews is taking on a rather different role: He's playing one of the ultimate fairy tale villains, Aladdin's arch-nemesis, Jafar. *squeal*
Andrews is joining the cast of Once Upon A Time In Wonderland, the new spinoff series which sprouts from ABC's Once Upon A Time, and word on the street is that his Jafar will be rather different to the fella we grew to love to hate. This lad will be a lot more modern than Jonathan Freeman's old school Grand Vizier, and will probably be more partial to an ould set of tails than a turban.
Andrews joins the likes of Sophie Lowe, Being Human's Michael Socha, John Lithgow, Hollyoaks' Emma Rigby and Being Human's for the series, which the showrunners say will most likely only run for one season anyway.
