Piers Morgan may have come back with his tail between his legs after his stint in the US, but he's taking it all on the chin and launching himself back onto the public that made him so popular in the first place.

The former Britain's Got Talent judge has landed a new presenting gig alongside Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain. Piers is set to replace Ben Shephard on the ITV breakfast show as co-host for three days a week from November.

This won't be his first time on the Good Morning couch as the Life Stories presenter also filled in for Shephard during the summer which he received mixed reviews for after he compared politician Ed Balls to Darth Vader and laughed off a contributor's swearing.

We're sure he has no intention of toning himself down either...

Morgan said of the news; "I am very excited at the prospect of waking up at 3am every morning, and even more excited by the thought of how annoying Susanna is going to find me after a few months.

"Good Morning Britain is a great show with a terrific team on and off screen. I'm looking forward to it enormously."

ITV Director of Daytime Helen Warner said: "We loved having Piers on the show earlier this year, so we're delighted that he's joining us permanently.

"He is an excellent interviewer and a great broadcaster, who fits in brilliantly with GMB's family of presenters."
