Amy Schumer may have just announced that her Comedy Central sketch show Inside Amy Schumer is finished.

Schumer has become embroiled in a scandal involving one of the show's writers, Kurt Metzger, who wrote a controversial Facebook post about rape at the weekend. The writer made the comments following the Upright Citizens Brigade’s alleged banning of comedian Aaron Glaser, who was accused of sexual assault in a private Facebook group for female comedians.

The Upright Citizen's Brigade is a well known improv comedy training centre that has launched the careers of Amy Poehler, Aziz Ansari and Donald Glover among others.

There had been increased speculation as to whether Metzger would be fired from Inside Amy Schumer as a result of his comments. Schumer took to Twitter to explain why that couldn't happen. There is no show to fire him from.

If the show is in fact finished, it certainly comes as surprising news considering it was renewed for a fifth season in January.

Schumer has also taken the opportunity to distance herself from Metzger's comments.
