'Big Little Lies' could potentially walk away with 16 Emmys at this year's awards and with all the attention it's getting, it looks like the limited-series could be getting a second season.
Speaking to EW after the nominations were announced yesterday, Kidman, who is also a producer on the show, was overjoyed at the mass of nominations for the series, saying: "It’s just unheard of! It’s a shared victory and a shared joy."
As for a second season, the boon of nominations on top of the acclaim the show's already garnered sure does make it seem likely, although Kidman is hesitant to commit to anything just yet.
"It inches us closer," she said. "But so much of it is trying to stay true to the characters and their voices. If we can do it, then it will be done. I believe their stories warrant it and I don’t want to abandon them. We don’t want to sell them short, either. But I’m hoping we can find it if we take the leap."
While we appreciate Kidman's honesty about the approach, we're not sure we share the sentiment. 'Big Little Lies' is perfect as it is, and we're still too burned by 'True Detective' season two to be optimistic about this getting another go.
