There was a slight panic a couple weeks ago when it was thought that Netflix were going to crack down on users accessing US Netflix over this side of the world.

That was later denied by the streaming service and now they have gone one step further by saying that all Irish viewers may soon be able to access US content.

Neil Hunt, who is the head of global product business said; "We're looking to have a global catalogue that's the same everywhere," said Mr Hunt. "If people feel they're missing out in one country, hopefully this is a temporary state of affairs."

He also added that they are hoping the service would soon be available on airplanes, trains and in hotels; "We're in discussions but there's nothing officially on the roadmap," he said. "But planes, trains and hotels would all make sense."

All good news for the estimated 200,000 Irish Netflix users as the streaming service is going from strength to strength adding more and more content all the time.
