Melissa McCarthy is returning to her TV roots, developing a half hour family comedy for US network Fox.

McCarthy is working on the project alongside her husband Ben Falcone. The pair are frequent collaborators, having worked together on Tammy and The Boss. These previous projects were both rated 15, so it will be interesting to see how far they can push the boundaries within the confines of a family TV sitcom.

As Variety reports, the details we have on the show so far is the logline: "An unconventional family is formed when a successful type-A man and his estranged sister, plus her two children, find themselves not only back in each other’s lives but also living under one roof."

McCarthy's next project is the Gilmore Girls sequel which will be launched on Netflix this November.
