Things are looking scary for Simon, Cheryl, Louis and all the contestants that rock up to appear on The X Factor this year as former Spice Girl Mel B has been announced as the fourth judge on the panel for the show's eleventh series. Yes, eleven.

According to the Daily Mail, Scary Spice inked a £1 million deal to join the panel and will start work in the first round of auditions in Manchester on Monday. In case you're wondering, Cheryl apparently got £1.5 mil to come back, but then it's a bigger gamble for her having being burned by the show before.

Per The Mirror: 'Mel B was Simon’s number one choice for the final place on the panel, he was really impressed when they met up and he likes her style and what she was saying she can bring to the show in their meeting. She is certainly not a shrinking violet and will say exactly what she thinks. She will stir things and be up for a laugh which is important.'

It won't be Scary Spice's first time on the UK version of the reality talent show, having previously turned up as a guest judge in 2012 having done her dues for Simon Cowell down under on X Factor Australia in its third and fourth series. We feel like also pointing out here that Mel B never won as a judge in her time on the Aussie version, so either she'll be gunning for a win or she's a bit crap. If previous experience of her is anything to go by, we think it'll be the former.

And if nothing else she'll make good telly.
