Bad news, '90s TV show revival fans. Little Michelle Tanner won't coming back for Fuller House, the follow-on series to Full House.

A statement released last night confirmed that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will not be reprising their dual roles as Michelle Tanner.

It was common practice in TV shows throughout the '80s and '90s to cast identical twins in a single role. Due to child labour laws, children are restricted from working certain hours on set, therefore the twins would simply swap out when their maximum time reached.

Basically any of the child actors who played Ben in Friends were twins. True story.

That said, however, this doesn't come as a huge shock to anyone. The Olsen twins have effectively retired from acting and haven't been seen in any major production since Mary-Kate starred in 2011's hilariously bad Beastly with Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer.

The OTHER Olsen, Elisabeth Olsen, is still very much in the acting game, having turned in a damn fine performance in last year's Godzilla and this year's Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Fuller House, which will be released via Netflix, will see a continuation of the original series with castmembers John Stamos and Candace Cameron Bure returning, although Bob Saget is still in negotiations to reprise his role as Danny.
