People of a certain vintage will recall sitting through Tales From The Crypt with their mates, pretending not to be scared skitterless.

According to Entertainment Weekly, M. Night Shyamalan said of his plans to breath new life into the long defunct HBO series (which also aired on SKY in the early 90s): “To be part of such a beloved brand like Tales From the Crypt, something I grew up watching, and to also have the chance to push the boundaries of genre television as a whole, is an inspiring opportunity that I can’t wait to dive into." We never saw Tales From The Crypt as a "brand". Nothing that petrifying could be deemed a "brand."

Seemingly the revival will be "part of a two-hour horror block at TNT that includes short and long-form programming led by Tales content and ‘curated’ by the Sixth Sense director." While no air date has been set in stone, it's thought to be within the year. Maybe SKY will pick up on it again, or perhaps Network 2, if we're really lucky.

For those of you wishing to relive an intro that haunted your dreams, knock yerselves out. It goes on a bit, but the crypt usually is buried somewhere in the house (apologies).
