The age of the blue hoodie is a long while away yet, but it seems as though Love/Hate has already made quite the impression on our neighbours across the Irish sea.

The smash hit RTE drama debuted on Channel 5 last night, and if the twitter feed was anything to go by it was, on the whole, a pretty big success. Here's a short summary that breaks down all the main points. (We could go on forever, there were so many tweets...)

They weren't at all prepared for Robbie's untimely demise...

However, his early death helped them realise that this wasn't Misfits, Dublin 'schtyle'...

They weren't exactly tempted to turn off the telly though, realising that the gritty drama wasn't without it's charms...

And sure wasn't it all fine as long as the other fella was safe? *cough*

They did have a few qualms about the 'social meeja' and old school mobile phones...

And as predicted, the accents weren't so easy for everyone to understand...

But sure that didn't matter when Robert Sheehan was on screen...

Or when Aidan Gillen/ yer man off Queer As Folk or The Wire popped up...

Tom Vaughan Lawlor's Nidge Weasel is already a big hit...

Even though some struggled with his name...

But they liked it, they REALLY liked it...

And sure didn't they get the moral of the story in no time at all?

Coolaboola.
